Jewellery store burglar nabbed

A jewellery store burglar was too slow for a Blue Security armed response officer, who nabbed him as he emerged from the store empty handed in the early hours of this morning.

Blue International managing director, Wade Anderson, said the company’s armed response officer had responded swiftly to the crime scene in the CBD at 1.08am, after the alarm had activated. “Burglars had pried open the burglar bars and forced their way into the property. They were disturbed when the alarm activated with multiple zones. Our officer responded swiftly to the scene and arrested one of the burglars as he climbed out of a window,” Anderson said. “He was handed over to the Durban SAPS. Nothing was reported stolen.”

Anderson commended the armed response officer’s quick reaction time which led to the arrest. “We are committed to protecting our clients and their properties. We support a range of blue chip retail chains nationally and across our borders, providing high-end electronic security systems and rapid armed response,” he said.
